Research: Blog Task 17 - evaluation of my practical activity

Evaluation of the Remake of The Breakfast Club

Overall I think the final production (remake video) was a success. We filmed the scenes we picked in a variety of locations e.g outside the school building ( to capture the college building), the canteen, computer room, hallway and many more.
However we did have some difficulties filming for example, for the car scene we wanted to find a similar car to the one in the breakfast club which, was a BMW. Once we found the car we took videos, but when we started to edit we had a few problems, as the scenes and  did not fit together and looked disfigured. We also couldn't complete scenes with dialogues because of our timing.
Another issue we had was not being able to add sound. When we attempted to embed the breakfast clubs sounds track it would work as the software did not allow us.
I think that our remake was successful as we got the important sections done. For example adding the credits and putting the scenes together.

At first it was hard to create the title credits, because it was difficult to find the same colour and type of text as the original sequence. However after planning and practicing to create the credits, I think it turned out great as we gained similar results.
The decisions we made about our font was to make it yellow (like the original title sequence), and to have it large for the text to be readable as well as, making it more outstanding and bright.

If I was to redo this task I would divide my time equally, as timing was an issue as we couldn't get everything done e.g sound. I would also make sure that we had props thoughout the scenes to make it more similar to the original, as well as spending extra time on editing as its one of the most important sections in the production process.
