What is a target audience?
A target audience is a particular group at which a product such as a film or advertisement is aimed.
It will help you plan advertising for the intended group for which something is performed

We can define our target audience by :
Where they are located
Gender
Regional identity
Age
Thier common intrests
Attitudes
Their common values
Every single detail is valuble.

Why is it useful for a film to have a target audience?
Its useful because it will help you aim the product to those who have direct interest in it.It is vital as vital will determine the content of your film.

Teen dramas?
I think teen dramas have a primary audience of teenagers ages 13-18 and then their secondary audiences of which the product isn't designed for them are children aged 9-13 and adults 20-25. They may view it as because of their friends and family. Teen drama films appeal to Girls and boys because they cover versatile teen issues such as bullying, social awareness, peer pressure, friends and so on. They also appeal to girls or boys who have favourite 'good-looking actor/actress. e.g The mazerunner appealed to girls of the 13-18 age group who found the main star Dylan O'Brien attractive.
